Recently, in response to the localization production requirements of General Motors’ (GM) Global Emerging Markets (GEM) key platform project, Anhui ZhongdingNVH Co., Ltd. established a subsidiary in Brazil. Following several months of meticulous preparation, the subsidiary has now successfully commenced production. Located in São Paulo, Brazil, its core business encompasses the research and development (R&D), production, and sales of automotive Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) vibration damping components. Notably, this marks the first overseas manufacturing investment by a domestic subsidiary of Anhui Zhongding sealing parts Co., Ltd.
GM’s GEM platform stands as one of its core global strategic platforms, featuring 9 vehicle models spanning compact cars and SUVs, with a planned lifecycle of 9 years. Zhongding Vibration Damping collaborated synchronously with GM on the R&D of 5 NVH vibration damping bushing products for this platform. Officially launched in October 2016, GM’s GEM project will initiate phased global mass production starting in March 2019. The total supply value of Zhongding’s products for this project over its lifecycle is estimated at RMB 600 million.
To fulfill GM’s localization production demands, Zhongding Vibration Damping has established two global production bases: the Anhui (Ningguo) base in China and the Brazil base. The latter primarily supplies GM’s Brazilian manufacturing facilities. Moving forward, Zhongding Vibration Damping Brazil Co., Ltd. will leverage this initiative to further penetrate the South American automotive vibration damping components market, expand its market share, and solidify a pivotal beachhead for Zhongding’s global expansion in R&D, production, and sales.
